Leyton Orient striker Chris Dagnall has turned down a contract offer and decided to move to India.

The O's forward will join Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters despite being offered a new deal by head coach Ian Hendon.

The 29-year-old finished as the club's top scorer last season netting 13 goals but was unable to help keep Orient in League One.

The O's relegation and the likelihood of a lucrative contract in India have persuaded Dagnall to end his 18-month stay in London.

Dagnall, who scored 20 goals in 62 games for the club after joining from Barnsley, said: "I have enjoyed my 18 months with the club and I have some great memories over the course of that period.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the fans for their support they have given to me and the club during my time here. They were very welcoming from the minute I joined and I can only thank them for that.

"This will be a new challenge for me over in India and a completely new environment, country and culture, but one I look forward to."
