Leyton Orient striker Jay Simpson wants to make sure the team avoid another embarrassment tomorrow after "having their pants pulled down" at MK Dons last season.

The O's suffered a humiliating 6-1 thrashing at the hands of MK Dons in April on their way to relegation. Simpson scored the consolation on a day to forget but Orient have the chance to make amends in tomorrow night's League Cup first round trip.

Simpson said: "It will be a really hard game [MK Dons]. They pulled our pants down when we played them last season so it will be a really tough cup game. Our focus is on the league but it will be a great game for us to play in as well.

"It was a bad, bad day. As a professional you never want to lose but when you lose like that it's embarrassing so hopefully we can go there on Tuesday and give a better account of ourselves."

Simpson got off the mark this season in Saturday's home win over Barnet and believes it was important to make a strong start to the campaign.

The former Arsenal forward said: "I think it's definitely important to start well especially after last year. Last year's gone now but it was nice to win our first home game. Last year we didn't have the best record at home so it was nice to get a win in the first game and put last season behind us now.

"There was a nice turnout from the fans and it seemed like we had a lot more than we had last year so it's great to know the fans are behind us as well."
