Ian Hendon has admitted he will try to help Jobi McAnuff move to the Championship after the midfielder was again left out of Leyton Orient's squad during the 3-1 win at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The O's have claimed back-to-back League Two wins at the start of the season but McAnuff has not featured at all for the club. The midfielder has reportedly been training at Blackburn Rovers and head coach Hendon is keen to help him move on.

Hendon said: "I think it's out there where Jobi is and as I've said before I started pre-season with a squad of players that I was happy with and nothing's changed. Jobi has come back into the club and trained and there's absolutely no issue with myself and Jobi.

"But if the lad can go and play in the Championship why would you stop him? If he can go there and get fixed up brilliant and good luck to him. I'll try and help him do that if that's what he wants."

Orient moved joint top of the table with a convincing victory over their local rivals after goals from Paul McCallum, Lloyd James and Dean Cox.

The O's were backed by a sold out away following of more than 1,400 fans and the manager believes their vocal support can help push them to success this season.

Hendon said: "They were fantastic again. It was brilliant and let's hope, and I'm sure it will continue, if we keep performing like we are at the moment in matches then there's no reason why they won't be coming back week after week. Winning football matches helps that as well.

"It is nice [to hear them sing his name] but it's not the support of me but the support of the team and club which is really pleasing. I keep saying that it does make a difference as noisy as they are. I'm glad at the moment we're repaying them with some good football and some good results."
