Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon admits he is relishing the chance to come up against his former West Ham United colleague Teddy Sheringham tomorrow.
Former Hammers first-team coach Hendon and attacking coach Sheringham shared an office last season. Now the pair will face each other on the touchline when the new Stevenage boss takes his side to Brisbane Road tomorrow night.
Hendon said: "We shared the same office last year, me and Teddy, so I'm looking forward to having a battle with him on Tuesday night."
When asked if he was surprised Sheringham has opted to take a job in League Two, Hendon replied: "Not at all. It's something he wants to do and you have to get a grounding somewhere if that's the path you want to follow.
"He's gone to a good club there at Stevenage and we've all made those decisions with myself and Neil McDonald [former West Ham assistant manager] going up to Blackpool. It's what we want to do.
"We want to be managers and you have to make your mark wherever you get the opportunity."
