Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon insists everyone is keeping their feet firmly on the ground after moving top of League Two.

The O's have a 100 per cent record this season after their 3-0 home win over Stevenage secured their third consecutive victory.

Hendon said: To be honest I haven't even looked [at the table]. I'm just delighted with the result. If that's the case it's good to be top but we've got a long, long way to go yet.

"We're three games into a 46 game season so our feet are firmly on the ground and we're already looking forward to playing Newport on Saturday."

Orient had to wait until the 74th minute to take the lead through Jay Simpson's header. But the highlight of the match was a sensational second goal when substitute Blair Turgott struck a stunning volley into the net.

Hendon said: "It was a stunner. I've worked with Blair and he has got that in the locker. I've seen him score plenty of goals like that in the time I've worked with him and we brought him on to supply tonight and he actually ended up popping up with one so it was a bit of a bonus."

Despite the scoreline, Hendon admits Stevenage, under the management of Teddy Sheringham, gave them their toughest challenge of the new season.

"To be fair to Stevenage they're the best team we've played so far," he said. "They made it very, very difficult for us in the first half. They can mix it up and play long and actually get it down and play as well.

"It was a tough, tough game but we got over the first half and came out second half and played a little bit better ourselves with the ball. A couple of the goals we scored were fantastic so we're delighted."
