Orient head coach Ian Hendon believes the players owe the fans a performance when they host Staines Town in the first round of the FA Cup tomorrow.

The O's boss brought his squad into extra training on Sunday after Saturday's 1-0 loss against Accrington Stanley which he described as not acceptable.

Speaking after the defeat, Hendon said: "I think first and foremost the players owe the supporters a performance. We don't coach them all week to go and perform like they did."

Hendon threatened to make changes after last weekend's defeat and will be forced into at least one with Brighton defender Adam Chicksen returning to the Championship club following his loan.

It means left-back Frazer Shaw is likely to return to the side with his last start coming in September's home defeat to Carlisle United.

Midfielder Harry Lee could also be involved in the squad after Hendon opted to recall him early from his loan at Welling United.

On the face of it, Orient's home game against a Staines side sitting 17th in the Ryman Premier Division appears to be a generous fixture following last week's defeat.

But it is a match Hendon cannot afford to lose with some fans already starting to question his position at the club despite such a promising start to the season.

Hendon insists their preparation for the match will be exactly the same as if they were facing League Two opponents and he is expecting his side to produce a significant improvement from last weekend.

"We've had them [Staines] watched as soon as the draw was made," he said. "Andy[Hessenthaler] went down to Bognor and had a look and we've had them watched again today so we do our normal work like on every time whether it's a league or cup game.

"Nothing will change and the preparation won't change. I'd just like to think the performance will next Saturday."

Staines could bring a notable face back to Orient this weekend with former defender Darren Purse part of the visitors' squad.
Hendon said: "I did play with Darren Purse and was here when he made his debut. I know Darren well.

"He didn't play midweek for them because he had an injury but I'm sure if he needs any carrot to get fit I'm sure it will be coming back here on Saturday."
