Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon admits results have to improve quickly after his side were beaten 3-1 at Hartlepool United.

The O's were in control leading 1-0 yesterday but failed to make their dominance count as they slumped to a very disappointing defeat.

Orient remain in the top seven of League Two but two wins from 12 league matches have left the boss under pressure.

Hendon said: "We are disappointed we haven’t taken our chances. We can’t keep saying the performance are alright because at the end of the day we have lost and it is very disappointing from that aspect.

“The bottom line is we lost 3-1 and I get judged on results not performances, so results have to pick up and quickly. We have got a lot of disappointed players, and management staff in that dressing room.

“I’ve not looked at the table yet but obviously getting a win today would have helped. We are in and around it but we need to start winning games of football if we are going to keep challenging."

Orient only fielded five substitutes and with Dean Cox ruled out for six months with a serious knee injury the need to add to their squad has only increased.

Hendon said: “We lost ‘Coxy’ in the week and weren’t able to fill the bench today so it is majorly important that we get some players in and add quality. This is not through a lack of trying.”
