Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon will talk to owner Francesco Becchetti to discuss the possibility of trying to bring Chris Dagnall back to the club.
Dagnall could be available to join an English club after the end of his season with Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.
Dagnall scored six goals in nine matches for the Blasters and his availability is likely to tempt a number of clubs to try to sign him.
Hendon offered Dagnall a contract in the summer before he opted to join the Indian side and the head coach was asked if he would be interested in bringing him back to the club.
Speaking on Saturday, Hendon said: “I’ll have to speak to the owner on that one and see where we lie with that.”
