Jay Simpson admits new player-manager Kevin Nolan's three month stint training with the club earlier this season made a big impression on the Orient squad.
Nolan spent time keeping fit with the League Two side before Christmas and this has helped the new manager settle in to his job after being appointed last week.
Simpson said: "Everybody knows what a great career he's had. He's still 33 so he could have gone on and played at a high level but it was an opportunity he couldn't turn down.
"He's highly respected by the boys and from when he was training with us before we could see the quality he had.
"From what he's achieved and the way he carries himself he's a very humble and honest man. He always tried to support the young boys when he came in and pass on his advice and experience to us. I think the boys repaid him [at Wycombe]."
