Nigel Atangana has described Orient’s remaining fixtures as “seven cup finals” and has promised the team will do everything to reach the play-offs.

The O’s slipped up during the Easter weekend after defeats against Accrington Stanley and Hartlepool United to drop out of the top-seven of League Two.

Speaking after Monday’s loss to Hartlepool, Atangana said: “I think there are seven finals now and we need to concentrate game by game. I’m sure if we’re doing the right things that we’re going to make the play-offs.

“It’s very important. We need to think game by game and give the maximum.”

Atangana added: “I think at the moment for the last two games it was tough because we lost both games.

“But we are still just two points behind the play-offs so it’s not finished. We have seven games left and you never know what’s going to happen now. We are all disappointed about today but we need to stay focused and not start to think about negative things.”

The former Portsmouth midfielder moved to Brisbane Road in January and insists it feels like he has been at Orient for a much longer period of time.

Atangana, 26, said: “I feel very good. I’m feeling like I’ve been here for a few years now so it’s a good feeling. Obviously I’m not happy today because we lost the game but I’m very happy to be here.”
