Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan admits he is worried by the team’s lack of goals and insists they have to start scoring more as they chase a play-off place.

The O’s are one place outside the League Two top seven but have picked up just one point from three games.

Orient have struggled to find the net under Nolan after only scoring 13 goals in 14 matches.

Former West Ham United captain Nolan has yet to get off the mark for the O’s and he admits the players need to start scoring regularly during the final six matches.

Speaking after the side’s 1-1 draw at York City on Saturday, Nolan said: “I’m worried about a lack of goals for me, for him [Jay Simpson], Ollie [Palmer], Armand [Gnanduillet] and for everyone.

“At the end of the day it doesn’t matter where they come from, we’ve got to start scoring goals and I think it’s not as if we’re not getting the opportunities.”

But the Orient boss believes replicating their second-half performance at York will help push them towards their play-off target.

He said: “If we continue to keep doing what we’ve done today, especially in the second half then I’m more than confident we can get the positive results we need to keep pushing to try to get into the play-off positions.”
