Leyton Orient won 2-1 in their second away match of the League Two season as they faced Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

Goals from Liam Kelly and Ollie Palmer was enough to seal the win for the away side as Palmer scored against his former side.

Substitute Dominic Vose pulled one back for Grimsby in the dying minutes of the game but it was to be a mere consolation goal.

Andy Hessenthaler made a great second half substitution as Palmer doubled their lead as Orient gained their second win of the season.

It was the home side who could have opened the scoring in the early minutes asBogle got in after Yvan Erichot struggled to connect with the ball due to the wind, but Cisak was on hand and blocked well.

James Barrett a minute later almost made it 1-0 for the home side but once again it was saved by Cisak as it goes behind for a corner and Craig Disley then heads wide.

Dean Cox had the first chance of the game for the O’s as he went up the other end with a break but dragged his effort wide.

Bogle tried his luck for The Mariners from the 35-yard mark but it was to no avail as his ambitious shot cleared the crossbar.

On the 19th minute Disley controls the ball well in the box as Sandro Semedo stuck a leg out and Disley went down but referee Graham Salisbury called it a dive as the score remained 0-0.

Bowery managed a great run down the right and played the ball into the box and it almost created an own goal after Josh Gowling smashed the ball against Shaun Pearson but it goes over the bar.

The home side started creating more chances in the first half and it took a super save from Cisak to keep Bogle’s drive from 18 yards out as the Australian tipped it over the bar.

Bowery started to cause Gosling all sorts of problems and in the 31st minute he blocked the defenders clearance but his sliced effort was pushed over the crossbar by McKeown.

Kayden Jackson should have scored first as he was inches away from putting the ball into the back of the net as he volleyed Danny Andrew’s cross over the bar from close range.

And just before the stoke of half-time Cisak was too the rescue once again for the east London club as he got down well to parry away Summerfield’s shot behind for a corner which came to nothing.

The second half started very much like the first and Grimsby came out the livelier of the two as Jackson got in quickly behind the Orient defence but his cross was met by Cisak.

Two minutes later, Chambers sent in a cross but it was too high for Bogle but the ball was met by Berrett who steered the header over the bar. But Orient did have chances of their own as Harry Cornick sent a delivery to Gavin Massey and the winger drove his shot at the defender before he saw his shot deflected wide for a corner.

Orient’s Kelly was the man to break the deadlock and his first goal for the club after Bowery crossed the ball in and McKeown fumbled the cross and Kelly was there to tap in.

The Mariners could have easily equalised in the 63rd minute after Cisak caught the ball and was judged to be just outside the area and Grimsby were given the free-kick but it came to nothing.

Pearson goes close for equalising for the Town 20 minutes from time as he volleyed from the edge of the box but it flashed just wide of the post.

But it was the east London club who got the next goal as Palmer scored in 77th minute as he pounced on a mistake by Pearson and the forward ran through after being one on one with McKeown.

Vose pulled one back for the home side in the 92nd minute with a deflected strike from inside the box but the O’s defend well and held for back to back wins.
