Andy Edwards will take charge of Leyton Orient on a permanent basis until the end of the season following the departure of Alberto Cavasin.

We reported earlier that Cavasin's 10-game spell in charge at the club had come to end and this has now been confirmed by the club.

The news came after last night's 1-0 defeat to Exeter City with the O's just sitting above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Orient have lost eight consecutive home defeats this season, nine in total and only had one shot on target the entire match against The Grecians.

The E10 club released a statement which said: "We thank him for his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well for the future departs the club alongside Head of Fitness Alfredo Vergori and Matteo Festa."

Head Coach Danny Webb will also step up into the assistant manager role.

The O's take on Doncaster Rovers on Saturday at the Keepmoat Stadium with a 3pm kick-off.
