Former O's boss Alberto Cavasin left Leyton Orient fans a heartfelt message after his departure yesterday.

The 60-year-old was relieved of his duties following the 1-0 loss to Exeter City on Tuesday night.

Assistant manager Andy Edwards will take charge of the first team until the end of the season with Danny Webb taking up the assistant role.

The Italian spoke to the club website and said: "I would like to say goodbye and I am sorry for not achieving the results that both I and all the coaching staff wanted during my time with the club.

"I gave absolutely everything I could and I hope results pick up as a club of this nature and history deserves to be successful.

"For the supporters, you gave your overwhelming support to the team and I thank you for that.

"While I would also like to thank the chairman for the opportunity he gave me with the club.

"Up the O's."
