Leyton Orient boss Andy Edwards believes performances at Brisbane Road are more positive after gaining their first back-to-back home wins since August 2015.

Orient won twice during December defeating Accrington Stanley 1-0 and Crawley Town 3-2.

It had been a bad few months for O's fans having waited three months before their team recorded their second home win, but Edwards thinks things are hopefully on the up.

He added: "It takes that little bit of pressure off of us. And we want to win and get a positive result.

"It would be great to get a run going. But it just gives us that confidence, winning the last home game.

"I thought we had a real fighting spirit at Wycombe and they were a team full of confidence, eight on the bounce.

"We got some criticism from some corners but we are fighting and scrapping for every single thing we can get.

"And I thought we done that against them. We came up just short in the second but our first half performance against Crawley was our best in the season so far.

"The second half wasn't so good but obviously it was about the result."

When asked if Callum Kennedy is likely to feature tomorrow after missing the Boxing Day game the former academy director said: "I don't know. We were hoping he would be available today but I have not really had an update I must admit.

"I was told he was not available so I said right ok let's focus on the game.

"So I am not exactly sure where he is at but hopefully he will be available for New Years."

Cambridge United have gone from strength to strength since sitting in the bottom half of the table last month.

They now sit just outside the play-offs.

"When you look at Cambridge, you look at Stevenage, You look at Yeovil at different points in the season they were all down there.

"They have put runs together. The lines are very fine in all divisions, especially in this division this year.

"You never know. But we cannot get carried away with ourselves. It has been a tough year.

"We had two 17-year-olds on the pitch. We have got a right-back playing left-back, our only left-back is injured.

"We have a lad who made his debut after eight months out at centre-half.

"So we cannot get carried away, we have to be realistic about it, but we have a decent squad.

"We have a squad which we can add too. But you never know.

"It was all about the three points and getting away from the bottom two."

Cambridge visits the Matchroom stadium tomorrow kicking off at 1pm before the O's travel to Exeter on Monday, January 2.
