The Professional Footballers Association (PFA) have confirmed Leyton Orient players and staff are yet to receive their wages.

Last Friday, it was revealed they had not been paid for the month of March and it was believed this issue was to be solved today.

However, this is not the case. John Bramhall from the PFA said: "My colleague is at the club at the moment and they have not received any payment as of yet.

"There have been clubs in this situation in the past and the club has carried on.

"Hopefully the players will continue to serve the supporters and the community in the same way.

"It is a very difficult situation for them. We are looking to help them in any way we can that is why my colleague is there at the club today."

The past week has been tough for the O's faithful. Danny Webb resigned from his role as first-team manager last Wednesday before they lost 2-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

LOFT (Leyton Orient Fans Trust) had this to say about the issue of non-payment: "The news that Leyton Orient's players and staff have still not been paid offers further proof that Francesco Becchetti is simply not a fit and proper person to run a football club. That a man who lives in a £22m+ mansion feels able to toy with people's livelihoods in this way is an insult to hard-working staff and the values and traditions of our football club. As is his continued silence on the club's problems. It demonstrates the absolute necessity of his departure and new, more accountable ownership before Leyton Orient are driven further into the ground.

"LOFT will be meeting the PFA next week to discuss how we can help move the club out of this crisis, and we offer our full support to the club's much put-upon staff. The owner must pay their outstanding wages immediately."

At the beginning of last month, the east London club were served with a winding-up petition from HMRC over an unpaid tax bill believed to be around £125,000-£250,000.

Owner Francesco Becchetti has since paid the initial bill but other creditors have since taken over.

The club and the creditors are due to appear at High Court on Monday, June 12.
