Jordan Bowery is set to join Crewe Alexandra on July 1 signing a two-year deal as he makes his exit from Leyton Orient.

The 25-year-old joined the east London club last summer from Oxford United but only managed one goal in 17 appearances.

Bowery joined Crewe on loan in January after he was transfer listed by the O's.

The former Aston Villa and Chesterfield player was also a subject in the now infamous google translate statement made by CEO Alessandro Angelieri.

He helped the Railwaymen to transform their forward line, scoring two against Crawley and Carlisle United, but also helped Chris Dagnall rediscover his form allowing him to win player-of-the-season.

Crewe manager David Artell told the club website prior to the signing: "We have been making significant progress with Jordan and his agent and he would be a great signing for us.

"I think he improves us and he is someone we wanted here. It is always try and do one or two early because you can then concentrate on other areas.

"It means you are not chasing your tail a bit and needing to get four or five in at the end."

Bowery will join his new team-mates for pre-season training.
