Ebou Adams is in talks with Leyton Orient over a permanent move to Brisbane Road, the Guardian Series understand.

However, no deal has been reached just yet and the O's will have to act quickly if they want snap up the on loan Norwich City midfielder, as Adams has also attracted interest from both Football League and National League clubs.

Adams will become a free agent in the summer, as his contract with Norwich is set to expire, having initially signed a one-year extension with the Championship club last year.

The 22-year-old initially moved to East Anglia from National League South side Dartford on deadline day in January 2016 and has largely featured for Norwich’s U23 team during his time at the club, scoring six goals in 27 appearances last season.

He initially arrived on loan at Brisbane Road in January and has impressed, establishing himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet, making 12 appearances in all competitions so far.

The young midfielder has given Orient some much needed energy, scoring his first goal against Gateshead in February with a stunning strike, and put in another impressive performance against Woking on Saturday, pulling off some crucial tackles in midfield.

Adams was set to miss last weekend’s game having been called up to the Gambia squad for a friendly against Algeria, but he was given permission to miss the match by the Gambia FA so he could feature for Orient.

O’s head coach Justin Edinburgh has praised the performances of Adams on a few occasions and he confirmed after Saturday’s game that he would like to sign the young midfielder permanently.

He said: “I think he’s fully aware. He (Adams) knows what we are about and he’s someone we would love to be attracting to this football club. So, we hope that can happen.”
