Norwich City loanee Ebou Adams remains in talks over a permanent move to Leyton Orient although no agreement has been reached just yet, the Guardian Series understand.

Adams has been in talks with the O’s for over a month now after enjoying an impressive loan spell at Brisbane Road, but has also attracted interest from both Football League and National League outfits.

The young midfielder looks set to leave Norwich this summer, with his contract set to expire, having initially moved to Carrow Road from Dartford in January 2016. He has largely featured for the Canaries’ U23 team during his time in Norfolk.

Having spent the first half of this campaign with Shrewsbury Town in League One, Adams joined Orient on loan for the rest of the season in January and has impressed with his energetic and combative performances in midfield.

The 22-year-old won the club’s Goal-of-the-Season award last week for his superb strike against Gateshead in the FA Trophy back in February, which is currently his only goal for the O’s in 19 appearances this campaign.

His impressive performances for Orient led to him earning a call up for the Gambia national team for their friendly against Algeria in March, but he showed his commitment to the O’s by being given permission to miss the game so he could feature in the club’s 3-0 win over Woking.

Head coach Justin Edinburgh has spoken repeatedly of his desire to keep Adams at Brisbane Road and said after the game against Wrexham that he hoped a deal could be reached with the young midfielder.

Edinburgh said: “We’re in dialogue with Ebou’s representatives. The boy wants to continue to play well for Leyton Orient and I think a decision will be positive come the end of the season.”
