ORIENT new boy Ryan Jarvis claims it was an easy decision to come back to Brisbane Road for a second time following a successful loan spell at the club just over a year ago.

The 21-year-old, who was snapped up from Norwich this week by manager Martin Ling on a two-year deal, helped keep the O's in League One the season before last with six goals in 14 appearances, including a hat-trick in a 5-2 win at Millwall.

And - having been seen as the 'next big thing' following a string of England youth appearances -Jarvis is hoping to find that level of performance on a more regular basis now after failing to live up to expectations at Carrow Road.

He said: "As soon as I spoke to Dean Smith on the phone and he said the gaffer wanted me back here I was ready to come and listen to what he had to say.

"I really enjoyed my time here before, because while the club was struggling to stay up in League One the training and playing in the games was still fun and enjoyable.

"So while there was interest from other clubs, I knew I wanted to come here because I know that Smudge and the gaffer can get the best out of me.

"I don't really want to go into why it never happened at Norwich for me, because that is in the past now and all I want to do is play well for this club and hopefully make them successful."

And Jarvis is certainly looking to make the Orient faithful happy with his performances, and would be more than happy to play on the right wing if required.

He added: "Last year when I was on-loan at Notts County I ended up on the right, because I was getting a bit frustrated up front because I wasn't really seeing much of the ball.

"So while I normally prefer to play up front I did enjoy playing on the right and if the manager asks me to play there I'll be more than happy.

"At the end of the day I just want to play football and make the fans happy with my performances.

"That is what it is all about and hopefully I can have a few more games like that one at Millwall while I'm here, because not only did it please the fans because it was against one of our arrivals it was probably one of the highlights of my career so far."
