FAN and editor of O's fanzine Pandamonium Matthew Rooper is back this season to talk about all things Leyton Orient.

Well thank my lucky stars that moving house kept me from a trip up the A1 to London Road over the weekend. That didn't make it much less painful listening to Orient World as the goals went in and as Jeff Stelling announced that West Ham were well on top against Wigan, Southend were winning (cheers Millwall for the 90th minute leveller!) and Brentford were running in goals left, right at centre at Griffin Park.

In fact the only consolation for me personally was the fact that my football coupon from Corals showed a healthy profit....and no I didn't back Peterboro or McClean to score!

From reports I have read, it sounded quite poor and if you put Tuesday night's and Saturday's defending together on a DVD you would have an x-rated over 18 horror movie which you wouldn't show the kids apparently. Fair enough, Ipswich are a Championship side (and a good one at that) and OK, Peterborough are good going forward but being serious for just one moment it must be a worry for all of us, Martin Ling included that we are leaking goals as easily as a click of the fingers.

It's Carlisle this weekend and although they have conceded four in two games, they have scored three in the first game, four in the second game. And after witnessing the performance at Peterboro they must be rubbing their hands - hopefully Boyd and Dawkins are doing the same watching their defence!

Who knows, we could be in for a cracker next week - when was the last time we had a 4-4?

The transfer window is of course another few days nearer ending and Ling says he wants a centre back as cover and his elusive left winger. These two would definitely help as a couple more losses will have the fans thinking it's going to another season of struggle and that the bookies got it spot on with quotes of 33, 40 and 50/1 for the O's to make an impression at the business end of the table.

Everyone knows that I am a happy clappy type of optimistic fan, and I am still confident that even after such a poor 180 minutes (OK, even Hereford wasn't that good) we can still make an impression this year. We may have to sign a few more to do it, but I certainly don't think we are relegation material after four halves of football!

However, at the end of the day, (and no I don't mean I want to settle for this option) we are in business and things could be worse - just ask any Luton, Bournemouth or Rotherham fan for starters!

Until next time, up the O's!
