Scott Cuthbert could make his return to action for Leyton Orient tomorrow as Russell Slade takes his side to Ebbsfleet United.

The former Swindon Town man has been sidelined since he was forced off injured in Orient’s loss at Charlton Athletic but could now be set for a comeback.

David Mooney also missed the tail end of last season and was absent in the O’s 5-3 victory at Sutton United on Wednesday with a virus meaning he might have to wait a little longer for a return to action.

The Sutton fixture came too soon for new signings Michael Symes and Nathan Clarke but Slade was hopeful the duo could feature tomorrow however, Ben Chorley is likely to remain sidelined.

The manager explained on Wednesday: “David has got a bit of a virus so we left him out. Scott has been training with us but is really stiff at the moment as you can imagine. We are hoping he will play a part on Saturday.

“Moons might not have recovered in time. Symes we are hopeful will play some football on Saturday and possibly even Nathan Clarke.

“Our fitness coach will make sure that as much as I want to play them and see them all and get them all into it, he will ensure we are making the right decisions on those.”

He added: “Symes should play on Saturday. Chorley may be a little bit short but he is not far away.”
