Leyton Orient won a second pre-season friendly as they beat Woking 2-0 at the Laithwaites Community Stadium.

Dean Cox opened the scoring for the away side as he scored his first since November 7.

Cox then worked well once again as he assisted Paul McCallum to score Orient’s second of the night as the duo showed their old self’s.

O’s boss Andy Hessenthaler’s half time substitutions worked well as he took a full first team squad to face the Cards.

Woking got an early chance on the game as Jack Caprice curled a low free-kick wide of the O’s goal.

Sandro Semedo broke down the pitch and Josh Koroma had the ball in the back of the net but it was correctly flagged up for offside in the opening ten minutes of the game.

The National League side then get a chance down the other end as Ben Gordon crossed the ball in but Nathan Ralph’s shot was weak and Alex Cisak saved it with ease.

Sean Clohessy then had to make an excellent block to stop the home side from scoring as he slid in to stop Delano Sam-Yorke’s 12-yard shot in the 16th minute.

Jack Caprice managed to stun Callum Kennedy and Tom Parkes as he sprint passed them but the Orient left-back recovered and gave away a corner before Ismail Yakubu headed wide.

The referee Dean Treleaven gave a much needed drink break as both sets of players needed to rehydrate but the match was only stopped for one minute.

Koroma once again had a chance to make it 1-0 as his shot took a deflection before being pushed behind by Brandon Hall and the coroner was cleared by Woking’s defence.

In the second half it took time before both sides got going and in the 56th minute Armand Gnanduillet passed to McCallum as he got the break-away but McCallum dragged his effort wide from a couple of touches.

The Frenchmen had another chance five minutes later and after a great cross from Clohessy into the box he headed the ball just wide of the right-hand post.

Orient opened the scoring through Cox as he drilled the ball into the far corner to open the scoring much to the loud appraise from the away fans.

A minute later, Charlie Penny had a chance to equalise as he went on-one-one with Charlie Grainger but he sent his shot wide after convincing Grainger to go the other way.

Cox made another immediate impact as he played in McCallum who took a touch before he slotted home the O’s second of the night.

Freddie Moncur was then played a through ball in the 79th minute and was crowded out before he found McCallum.

He then passed the ball onto Gnanduillet but Hall was equal to his effort and made a fine save.

The goalscorers then tried to combine once again but this time Cox’s cross was headed wide by McCallum who was flagged for offside.

Two minutes later McCallum heads his effort off the bar after doing well to meet Liam Kelly’s cross in the 88th minute.

The Cards tried to press for a consolation goal but it was to no avail as Cox and McCallum did the job for the east London club.
