Leyton Orient assistant manager Kevin Nugent insisted the team's discipline was "fantastic" after they edged past Coventry City on penalties in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The O's had the better of the match but could not get the breakthrough in normal time. But Orient won the penalty shootout 4-2 to keep their Wembley hopes alive in the competition.
Nugent said: "They were up against a good side today in Coventry. They moved the ball really well but I thought our discipline was fantastic from the players.
"They kept a really good shape and to be honest created a lot of good chances throughout the game but Coventry made it difficult and had a lot of possession."
Nugent revealed goalkeeper Jamie Jones, who saved Franck Moussa's effort, had an opportunity to look at video footage of Coventry's penalties before the shootout and also admitted the players frequently practiced spot kicks during training sessions.
He said: "We're quite fortunate that we have the Samsung sponsorship and they gave us a little tablet where we could video bits and pieces so we showed Jamie that just before the penalties were taken.
"That was quite handy but we practice them quite often and maybe a bit subconciously if we have a game in training and it ends up in a draw then we have a penalty shootout."
