Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade hopes his side can pick up their first win at home this season when they face Colchester United tomorrow.

The O's have only lost once this season but have drawn their last three league games and Slade knows the importance of getting off the mark at Brisbane Road sooner rather than later.

He said: “It just seems like we can’t get any rhythm at the moment at home so we need to get a bit of momentum going there.

“The fans have been magnificent away from home and they have appreciated the effort and quality of our football particularly at Aston Villa which was a bit of a showcase game.

“I hope we can transfer that form to playing at home and go on a bit of a run.”

Slade will have to manage without a number of players this weekend. Dean Cox has a medial knee ligament injury, which could keep him out for another ten days, while Lloyd James suffered a thigh injury in last week’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win at Peterborough United which is likely to sideline him for a few weeks.

Gary Sawyer also has tendonitis which will keep him out of this weekend’s home game against Colchester United.

Orient could hand a debut to Michael Petrasso after the 19-year-old midfielder joined on loan for a month from QPR.

Colchester have a new manager in charge after academy boss Tony Humes replaced Joe Dunne. Slade expects the visitors to set up to counter-attack and believes his side will have to learn to break down opponents at home this year.

He said: “It could be dangerous to play them now with a new manager in place. They like to play and they will be looking to counter-attack as much as anything.

“We have to learn to deal with teams playing here, stay focused and make sure we keep our balance.”
