Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani insists he is even more convinced his side will avoid relegation despite their 3-1 defeat at home to Bristol City tonight.

The O's took an early lead through Chris Dagnall but the Robins underlined their ability as the League One leaders to claim the three points.

Defeat leaves Orient still in the bottom four but their manager is adamant performances like this will keep them in the division.

Liverani said: "I am pleased with the performance of my team. I'm convinced even more today that if we keep playing like this we will avoid relegation.

"We faced the team first in the table. They've got very good players and the difference is they had three chances and they scored three goals. We created chances and we've been in the game until the end. Yes we lost but I'm very pleased with the performance."

The Italian added: "We had a good start and I think we were fit throughout the whole game and played good football with the ball and physically. We lost the game but I'm convinced with this performance we are on the right track."

Orient named the same side for the first time this season and Liverani admitted the return of injured players has handed him the opportunity to keep a settled team out.

Liverani said: "Now we've recovered basically almost all the injured players so we don't have any more injuries. We kept the same formation and normally when you play every three days, the third match is the one where you struggle a bit more physically."
