Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon praised the contribution of his new central defensive partnership after their 1-1 draw at Plymouth last night.

Cole Kpekawa made his full debut after the QPR youngster replaced injured captain Mathieu Baudry. He started alongside experienced Frenchman Jean-Yves M’Voto and the pair looked comfortable at the back as they limited the League Two leaders to very few chances.

Hendon said: "They got an hour pretty much together on Saturday [defenders] and not much time to do much work with them at the beginning of the week. I thought they did well.

"Cole is a young lad who's just settled in nicely and Jean brings that experience. As you can see he's a defender. He heads it and kicks and does what he has to do so I was really pleased with those two."

Hendon thought his side's gameplan worked well and he was pleased with the way his side defended at Home Park.

He said: "I think it's important you don't concede. Now if you can get a goal and get in front it's even better because it gives you something to hang on to.

"We were planning on coming and being tight and defending well which we did for the majority of the game. We limited them to very few chances I thought."
