Interim boss Andy Hessenthaler has hinted Kevin Nolan could be available for this weekend's final home game against Mansfield.

Nolan has yet to feature since his losing his job as manager with an ankle injury reportedly preventing him from being involved as a player.

Hessenthaler said: "He didn't need a scan in the end which was positive so hopefully he'll get in a bit of work and he may well be available for the last two games."

Jay Simpson missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon with a bad back but Hessenthaler is hopeful he will be able to return in the final home game this season against Mansfield on Saturday.

Nigel Atangana was also not involved due to a groin problem while Jobi McAnuff is unlikely to play again this season due to his torn calf.

With the O's no longer in contention for promotion and a number of players injured, the club could give some youngsters an opportunity in the last two games.

Leyton Orient's Under-18s were crowned champions of Merit League One after an unbeaten campaign while Scott Kashket was brought on along with league debutant Sandro Semedo during the second half at Wimbledon.

Hessenthaler said: "I'm sure we will [give youngsters an opportunity in remaining games].

"Again that will be another conversation for the coaching staff and the owner and we'll pick a team accordingly for the last few games and see the season out which is obviously turning out to be a very disappointing one."
