Former Leyton Orient midfielder Lloyd James has agreed a move to Exeter City.

James will be joined at the club by ex-O's forward Robbie Simpson after the pair signed for Paul Tisdale's side.

Midfielder James left Brisbane Road after four years at the club following the end of his contract this summer.

He told the Exeter website: “I’m delighted to get it over the line, and I’m really looking forward to getting started. The manager phoned my agent, and it was something that really interested me.

"The style of football is a big plus, and after a discussion with the manager, everything just felt right. The club came close to going up last year; hopefully we can go one step further this year.”

James was popular at Orient after being a regular in the side which narrowly missed out on the League One play-offs two seasons ago.

Simpson could not make an impact at the O's though after failing to score in 16 appearances during the 2013-14 season.
