West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell will be out of action for three to four months after suffering a knee ligament injury.
The 26-year-old was hurt in Saturday’s pre-season win over German club Karlsruher.
The Hammers said the left-back would see a specialist early next week when a decicion would be taken on whether surgery would be required.
Cresswell has been a prominent feature in Slaven Bilic’s side and has played in 37 league games as West Ham finished seventh last season.
West Ham are also worrying over the fitness of midfielder Manuel Lanzini who suffered a knee injury while on international duty with Argentina ahead of Rio 2016.
