BLOG: Intrepid O's fans would have been left disappointed

In his last fan blog, Pandamonium editor and O's supporter Mat Roper gives us his slant on all things Leyton Orient.

So, 1334 intrepid O's fans made the journey North up the M1 and came back rather saddened at a 0-4 drubbing. I was forced to watch via teletxt, SKY sports and the world wide web and from reading and listening to reports, other O's fans etc it sounds like Lingy was pretty accurate in his summing up of the game, in that 0-4 was not a fair scoreline and had we been a bit more clinical and had a little more luck then the game could have gone the other way.

It was very encouraging to see that quite a few Forest fans paid compliments to our side and the way we played football. One supporter stated it was nice to see how good a side we were and that we were put together for less than Grant Holt alone!

Later this week I'll go into finances, pull apart the accountancy side of the game (and the O's in particular) and assess who is right - the fans for wanting Barry Hearn to open the wallet or our chairman for keeping it closed!

In short, it was a disappointing weekend, but yet again once the cold light of day shines across the League One table, we still find ourselves just four points off second place. OK, OK, so teams like Forest, Swansea and Leeds will probably kick on from here but we are still in there scrapping and if we are seventh, on joint points with sixth with three games to go, then most O's fans would once again "take it"!

Until later this week, up the O's - keep cheering!
