Orient boss is unlikely to add to his squad

MARTIN Ling has admitted he is unlikely to add anymore new additions to his squad before the transfer window shuts tomorrow (Thursday).

The Orient boss had been hoping to bring in a big striker and had been in talks with non-league outfit Fisher Athletic about Jeff Goulding.

The 23-year-old former Reading and Crystal Palace trainee had impressed while on trial at Brisbane Road, but it is thought the Conference South club have priced him out of a move to Brisbane Road.

Reflecting on events, Ling said: "At the moment it looks like we wont be bringing anyone in.

"I had been talking to Fisher about Jeff Goulding, but at the moment they would have to come along way down to meet the valuation we have of the player.

"I also believe that he has been training with other clubs, so maybe they are trying to put the player out there and get as much money as they can for him.

"So unless something was to drastically change I can't see anything happening now."

The Orient boss confirmed that he would be monitoring possible loan targets, although stated that former loanee Ryan Jarvis would not be rejoining from Norwich.

He said: "At the moment it looks like we will have both Jabo (Ibehre) and Wayne (Gray) back for Saturday, so we will be up to five strikers again.

"So at the moment there isn't really a need for me to bring anyone else in, although I will be keeping my finger on the pulse just in case we need to sign someone on loan should the need arise.

"I can say that there are certainly no immediate plans to bring Ryan Jarvis back to the club.

"I think some people might have seen him at are game with Northampton and put two and two together, but he was only there to watch his friend Ian Henderson play."
