ORIENT: Tougher than Premier League?

YOUNG Aaron Doran reckons Leyton Orient compare well with the giants of the Premier League.

And the 18-year-old, on loan from Blackburn Rovers, has high hopes for his spell at Brisbane Road.

The midfielder told the Guardian Series: “I don’t like long-ball football and that’s why I came down here.

“This is a team I can play in.

“League One is really competitive,” he continued. “You don’t get as much time on the ball. You get more of that in the Premier League.

“That’ll make me a better player, when you have other players tackling you.

“Hopefully, it bodes well for the future.”

But can Doran’s words be dismissed as youthful bluster?

The Irishman’s track record in top-flight football suggests not.

That is because the lad on loan from Premier League Blackburn Rovers has already played against three of the biggest clubs on planet football.

He made his professional debut at Liverpool in April 2009, under Paul Ince.

After that, he saw action against Manchester City at Eastlands, and then he took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

“I played some big games last year and made my debut at Anfield,” he said.

“They were good games and hopefully in the years to come, I’ll play there again.”
