ORIENT: Téhoué progress delights Williams

ORIENT boss Geraint Williams insists striker Jonathan Téhoué is 'getting stronger every week' after the Frenchman inspired the team to their first win in eight games over Walsall at the weekend.

While it was Sean Thornton who grabbed the headlines with a second half brace, it was Téhoué who really stole the show, his pace and power causing the Saddlers' defence all sorts of problems.

The match was the forward's first start in front of the Brisbane Road crowd and was his first appearance since he put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half year deal with the club.

Williams acknowledged Téhoué was still nursing his way back to full fitness after a year out of the game befooe he joined the O's in January, but was excited at the progress he was making.

“He's getting stronger every week,” said Williams. “In the second half he said he was shot to bits and he wanted to come off, but the next minute he's striding past people like they're not there.

"So if that's him shattered then there's an awful lot more to come.”
