IT'S seems that it is not just on the pitch that Orient's Craig Easton is hitting the right notes with his teammates, writes Peter King.
The Scottish midfeilder, who grabbed his first goal in an O's shirt to topple League leaders Grimsby on Saturday is quietly indulging in his love of music with roommate Wayne Carlisle, with the pair enjoy jamming on their guitars together to help wile away the long hours footballers can often find on their hands.
And Oasis and Embrace fan Easton believes that with Martin Ling's squad bonding well together this season, that the east Londoners have every chance of being successful.
Reflecting on his hobby, he said: "I've been a big music fan since my teens and have been playing the guitar for a while now.
"Wayne is also into his music and as we room together on away trips we have been practicing a couple of Oasis numbers together. "Daryl McMahon, who has also got a guitar of his own is looking to get involved as well, although i don't think we will be forming any band between us.
"It is a good way to spend some time relaxing though, because if you are stuck in a hotel room you can get a little board just sitting there watching TV.
"I wouldn't say that we are great musicians or anything and we certainly don't sing along to the music we are playing, but it is a great hobby that can help you relax before a game.
"I don't think we will be playing in front of the other lads on the bus just yet, because we might get a bit of stick of them.
"To be honest though all the squad get on really well and the team spirit we have got here is as good as I've known it anywhere else.
"We really get behind each other and encourage one another on the pitch and that is the kind of unity you need in the camp if you are going to be succesful."
Easton, who also revealed that he is really settling well to life in England after moving into a flat in Chigwell , revealed his delight at finally getting off the mark with his match winner at Blundell Park at the weekend.
He added: "It was a massive game for us on Saturday because they have been doing really well this season and weren't top of the table without a reason.
"I was also really pleased to score my first goal for the club, because myself and Simmo (Michael Simpson) had been getting a bit of stick of the gaffa and the other lads in training because we hadn't found the net between us before Saturday.
"My parents had also came come down for the game so I was happy they saw my first goal, although the only shame was that my wife Laura who comes to see me play in most of my matches wasn't there.
"But having got off the mark at last hopefully I can get a few more goals before the end of the season for her."
