LEYTON Orient are set for a reunion with former manager Martin Ling when they take on Cambridge Utd, today.
The O’s travel to the Abbey Stadium for the penultimate game of their pre-season campaign.
Boss Russell Slade expects his players will be set a tough challenge by United.
“Cambridge will be another good test” said Slade.
“I’m not quite sure whether we will go strong or whether we will go for minutes in the pitch. We’ll have a chat and see where we go.
“We’ve had a lot of games lately with the tournament. So we’re going to have a look at the situation and see where we are in terms of bodies and fitness.”
The U’s play in the Conference National division, one promotion beneath League Two.
Ling is in his second tenure there as boss, since August 2009.
His first spell ended in bizarre circumstances after just nine days due to “irreconcilable differences” with the then chairman.
But the former O’s midfielder was back in charge a week later when a new chairman had replaced his enemy in the boardroom.
Orient's players were handed a day off after Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Premier League Spurs.
“About the first one they’ve had” quipped Slade.
