MATCH PREVIEW: Orient v Stockport

8:05am Friday 12th September 2008

Coca Cola League One, Saturday, September 13, 3pm

HEAD TO HEAD: Orient 25, Stockport 17, draws 17.

LAST TIME AT BRISBANE ROAD: Orient 2 Stockport 2 (19-11-2005) The O’s grabbed a valuable point in this League Two encounter against recently-relegated Stockport to continue their great start to the season.

Michael Raynes scored an early own goal to give the O’s a 24th minute lead, but Rob Clare equalised after half time. Captain John Mackie regained the hosts’ advantage before Jermaine Easter equalised.

FORM: The Hatters have made a similar start to the season as Martin Ling’s men. An opening day draw with Huddersfield was followed by a double header with Leicester. Jim Gannon’s men lost to the Foxes in the Carling Cup, but grabbed a valuable point in their league encounter with a 0-0 draw. This was followed by a 1-0 win against Hartlepool, a 3-0 defeat to Scunthorpe and a 1-0 Johntstone’s Paint victory over Port Vale. The Hatters didn’t have a league fixture at the weekend.

DANGER MAN: 20-year-old Tommy Rowe has scored Stockport’s only two goals this campaign after netting eight times for Gannon’s side last season. O’s defenders will have to get to grips with him when the sides meet on Saturday.

FUN FACT: The Hatters currently hold the record for winning the most Football League games without conceding a goal. Wayne Hennesey kept nine clean sheets whilst on loan from Wolves and was awarded the League Two player of the month award.

PREDICTION: Orient 2 Stockport 1
