ORIENT'S winless run continued, although they battled to a point at fellow strugglers Yeovil.
O's boss Martin Ling handed new signing Sam Parkin his debut, but the on-loan Luton man struggled to make any real impact in another lackluster display by the Londoners.
The visitors had the first real chance of the afternoon, but Adam Boyd's 25 yard effort sailed just over the bar on nine minutes.
Danny Granville then had a shot deflected over the home bar.
At the end it was a similar story when Darren Way let fly from the edge of the area on 20 minutes, with his effort going over the top.
Then on 26 minutes the O's had a good chance, but Tamika Mkandawire's header from Dean Morgan's corner also cleared the Glovers bar.
Two minutes before the break Orient keeper Glenn Morris made a fine save to deny Gary Roberts from close range.
Orient had the final chance of the half, but Boyd fired over once more from 20 yards out.
The hosts carved out the first opening of the second half, after Schofield's 74th minute cross deflected off Stephen Purches and just over the bar.
Darren Way came the closest to taking the lead, but Way's close range shot hit the top of the bar with six minutes remaining in a game that will be easily forgot by those that attended.
Orient: Morris; Purches, Thelwell, Mkandawire, Granville; Morgan, Chambers, Terry, Demetriou; Boyd (Melligan 77), Parkin (Jarvis 85). Subs: Saah, Jones (GK), Thornton.
