We head to Swansea with our competitive edge back

IT WAS a much improved performance against Doncaster on Saturday and it was nice to get back on track after five straight defeats.

While we didn't get the win we showed we can compete once more against one of the best teams in the league.

When we look back on the season we know we've done better because we aren't fighting relegation, but it is hugely frustrating that we aren't in the top six.

We showed once more we've got the ability to do that after holding Doncaster, but we just haven't been consistent enough since Christmas.

We go to Swansea now this weekend knowing that they will be in a party mood after winning the title.

Obviously we certainly don't want a repeat of the scoreline against them earlier in the season, and I'm sure with the confidence coming back that won't happen. Finally it was great night at the Supporters' Club awards evening, although it would've been nice if Adam and Tam had shared a few of them out with the rest of us.

Seriously, it was good to meet the fans, although I think Sean Thornton got a bit confused because it looked like he wanted to play snooker. He had a very dodgy waistcoat on and could have done with a break after cuing up loads of stick from the lads.

The gaffer let us have a team bonding night out to Faces afterwards, although sent Pete Brady down to keep an eye on us.

But given he was by far and away the oldest person in there and looked like a dad at a wedding, he didn't stick around for too long!
