TERRY'S TALK: A change of luck could help us turn our season around

HAVING taken the lead at Bristol Rovers on Saturday we were frustrated we didn't go on to win the game.

It wasn't the best of matches though, and the first half was certainly a bit of a non event. But after young Jason’s deflected cross put us in front at the start of the second half it was a shame we couldn't build on it.

I have to say at this point that it was certainly an own goal, but having given him a bit of stick for not scoring so far this season I did tell Jason that if the papers credited him that he could have it. So to my utter disbelief I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his name in all the results columns on Sunday! Seriously though, we really should have looked to have closed the game out, but at the moment the luck really isn’t with us.

We don’t want to sit there and make excuses, but a couple of things really went against us for their goals.

There was a foul on Cat (Glenn Morris) in the lead up to the first and then there was an unlucky breakdown from Brian's header for the winner. But we can't dwell on things because we have got five league games coming up in 14 days, to turn things around.

This week we've got a home game with Tranmere on Saturday, and if we are to start pulling ourselves up the table we do need to win our matches at Brisbane Road. We have been working hard in training this week to put things right, and hopefully that will be the case at the weekend because we will need all the confidence we can going into the match at Leeds on Tuesday night.

Of course if you can't lift your game at somewhere like Elland Road then there is something drastically wrong, so let’s hope for a couple of improved results and performances before I speak to you again next week.
