TERRY'S TALK: Orient supporters must keep the faith because we will work it out

AFTER picking up a point against Yeovil on Saturday we thought we had given ourselves a foundation to build on against the MK Dons on Tuesday night.

It wasn’t a fantastic performance against my old club at the weekend, but we managed to keep a cleansheet.

But then come Tuesday we went out and conceded two very sloppy goals and having gone into the game with a bit of confidence it was a real blow to us. We need to keep rolling up our sleeves and working hard to turn this bad run around.

I’m confident that we have the people to turn this around, and I’m sure that once we get one win on the board we will go on a positive run.

I would ask the fans to be patient, especially where the gaffer is concerned because I don't think he should be the one taking the flak.

It has been an awful start to the season but what I would ask the fans to remember is where the manager has taken the club from.

Five years ago Orient were bottom of League Two and there has been progression every year under the gaffer.

Just look at the top clubs that have retained their managers for a long time – like Manchester United and Arsenal for example – they have seen them turn it around after they have had times when it hasn’t gone so well, and I’m sure that the gaffer will do the same here. The buck ends with the players and it is up to us to start putting things right.

Of course facing in an in-form Hartlepool on Saturday isn’t going to make it easy for us to do that, but we need to treat it like a cup final and I believe with a bit of luck on the day that we can get a result even if we have to do it ugly.
