Fourth XI Premier Division

Wanstead & Snaresbrook Fifths are top of the table after thrashing Chingford Fourths by eight wickets.

Chingford batted first and were restricted to 117 with Asif Khan claiming four for 34.

Wanstead were up to the task and reached their target for the loss of just two wickets as Michael Griesel top-scored on 40.

Wanstead are away on Saturday to Stanford-Le-Hope Thirds, while Chingford host Hainault & Clayhall Fourths.

Woodford Green Thirds had to settle for a frustrating draw against Hainault & Clayhall Fourths.

The side won the toss and decided to bat first. Their innings resulted in a total of 210 for seven from 52 overs as M Bhatt scored a decent 55.

In reply, Woodford Green had their opponents on the ropes but were unable to put them away with Hainault finishing on 175 for eight. Bhatt again starred for the team as he finished with figures of six for 37.

Fourth XI Division One

Third-placed Wanstead Sixths secured an important victory over second-placed Chelmsford Fifths, winning by 54 runs.

Wanstead posted 197 with Nicholas Arnold (55) top scoring and that proved too much for Chelmsford, who were bowled out for 143.

Wanstead’s Simran Dhingra-Smith was in excellent form with the ball, taking seven for 28.

Wanstead are at home on Saturday to Epping Thirds.

League leaders Buckhurst Hill Fourths beat Fives & Heronians Fourths by six wickets.

Batting first, Fives were outclassed as they were bowled out for 66. Max Wheeler did the most damage, taking three for nine in just three overs.

In reply, Naomal Wijesooriya led the charge with 38 as Buckhurst eased to victory for the loss of four wickets.

Raheel Haider took three for 18.

Buckhurst Hill are away to Wickford Fourths on Saturday.

Epping Thirds slumped to a seven-wicket defeat to Wickford Fourths.

After winning the toss, Epping opted to bat first but the decision misfired as they were skittled out for just 102 in 46.2 overs. Tony Sanderson opened with 32, while Jim Twitchett added 22.

This total was never likely to be enough and so it proved as Wickford raced to the target for the loss of three wickets in 20.1 overs.

Old Parkonians Thirds edged to a 14-run win over Horndon on the Hill Thirds.

Winning the toss, Old Parkonians opted to bat but could only manage 119 all out in 43.1 overs. Sachin Vara impressed with 44 and he was supported by Andrew Beaven’s 31.

A fine bowling display from the side enabled them to dismiss Horndon for 105 in 37.3 overs. Vara was the star of the show as he claimed five for 28, while Beaven took three for 26.

Fourth XI Division Three

Loughton Fifths had their lead at the top cut to just two points after they were held to a draw by Ilford Fifths.

Conor Heaven’s 87 and Peter Nicholls’ 50 helped Loughton to 238 which proved too strong for Ilford, who finished on 166 for seven.

Loughton are away on Saturday to Basildon & Pitsea Fourths.

It was honours even between Old Parkonians Fourths and South Woodford Fifths in a tight match.

South Woodford scored 186 thanks in part to 30 from Mahmood Iqbal before Vijay Vijayanathan (four for 26) ripped into the middle order.

Parks got off to a great start through openers Trevor Thavanesan (34) and Yogaratnam Karunakaran (52) but couldn’t sustain the chase and had to hang on for the draw, 14 runs short with one wicket to spare.

South Woodford face Harold Wood Fifths at home on Saturday.

Chingford Fifths lost to Hainault & Clayhall Fifths by five wickets.

Chingford batted first and declared after 52 overs on 142 for five.

That wasn’t enough as Hainault surpassed the total in 40.2 overs with five wickets to spare.
