Woodford Wells are targeting international success from Monday after qualifying for the 2013 European Senior Club Tennis Championships.
The Woodford Green club’s women’s Over-50 team will face opponents from all over Europe for the second year running at the event at La Manga Club in Spain from September 23 to October 5.
The tournament is open to men over the age of 35 and women aged 40-plus from national champion clubs and the runners-up from international team competitions in the previous year.
Hopes of an English victory will be high this year with all parts of the country represented, including teams from Nottingham and Surrey.
