Third XI Premier Division

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Thirds could still secure second place but trail current incumbents Upminster, despite a four-wicket success at Brentwood Thirds.

Brentwood were below-par with the bat and thanks to the bowling of Muhammed Atif (four for 28) were dismissed for just 139, with Sam Dawes (74) top-scoring.

Bilal Patel (47) began the Wanstead response strongly before a flurry of middle-order runs helped push the visitors’ reply to 140 for six.

Woodford Wells Thirds were beaten by already-relegated Ilford Thirds by 42 runs.

Invited to bat first, Ilford’s top-scorer was Muhammad Kazmi with just 32 runs but the hosts shared the runs around and reached 200 all out, with Wade Goodlet taking four for 66.

Well faltered in reply and despite hits of 36 and 31 from Joe Hall and Mark Webb respectively, could only put up 158 all out in response.

Ahmedjan Bramkheil was the chief tormentor, taking four for 43 from 12 overs.

Ali Azad’s knock of 128 helped Buckhurst Hill Thirds thrash already relegated South Woodford Thirds by 236 runs.

Electing to bat first, visitors Buckhurst were rampant and posted an intimidating 333 for seven before declaring, with Azad (128) and Atul Sharma (86) to the fore.

Daniel Golding then took apart South Woodford in reply, finishing with figures of six for ten as the hosts were removed for 97.

Third XI Division One

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fourths lost to Harlow Thirds by three wickets, with the visitors securing promotion with victory.

Put into bat, Wanstead scored consistently through Raja Usman (47 not out) and Muhammed Arish (35) but could not put together runs quickly enough, closing on 182 for seven.

A knock of 110 from Faisal Javed put Harlow on course for victory, with the away side negotiating Faheem Aziz’s three for 11 to win with 187 for seven.

Chingford Thirds lost by six wickets at Harold Wood Thirds but are safe from relegation, unlike their hosts, who are perched above the drop zone.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Chingford made 175 all out but were unable to account for their hosts, who won with 176 for four.

Condemned to relegation already, Fives and Heronians Thirds were trounced by 155 runs as Chelmsford Fourths.

The home side put on a good score of 228 for eight before ruthlessly removing their visitors for 73 to stroll to the points.

Third XI Division Two

Loughton Thirds are promoted and should secure the title on the final day of the season, following a 43-run win over Billericay Thirds.

Impressive with the bat, Loughton opened strongly, with Naved Ali (72) and Niketh Shetty (77) putting on strong knocks, guiding the home side to 246 for eight before declaring.

Billericay were unable to replicate their hosts’ display with the bat and after losing both openers cheaply, briefly threatened through Stephen Ash (60) and Shaun Gillion (67 not out).

Shoaib Shah took three for 17 to remove the away side for 203.

West Essex Thirds’ miserable season continued with a four-wicket loss at Hornchurch Fourths.

Already long since condemned to relegation, West Essex declared on a respectable total of 203 for nine, only to see their hosts make 206 for six to snatch the points at the Fielders Sports Ground.

Third XI Division Three

Loughton Fourths still retain a slim hope of winning promotion, despite going down by five wickets against Hutton Fourths.

Underwhelming with the bat, Loughton were undone by Andy Bliss, who took six for 31 for the visitors.

Mohammed Ali (29) was Loughton’s top-scorer in a total of 130.

Mansoor Ahmad’s (four for 24) one-man show wasn’t quite enough to see off the threat of Loughton, who came through thanks to Ian Harris (64) and Lewis Cotton (47), reaching 131 for five.

South Woodford Fourths missed out on promotion after drawing at Wanstead and Snaresbrook Fifths.

The visitors declared on 225 for eight but could not remove their hosts, who clung on with 129 for nine.

Fourth XI Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill Fourths cruised to an 89-run success at home to Woodford Green Thirds, who go up as champions.

Adam Peters got Buckhurst off to the ideal start with the bat, hitting 96 - including 11 fours and two sixes. Hossam Uddin weighed in with 41 as the home side declared on 247 for eight.

John Palmer then set about dismantling the Woodford line-up by taking three for 44 as the visitors crumbled to 158 all out.

Chirag Trivedi hit 35 to top score for the away side.

Chingford Fourths enjoyed a five-wicket win over Harold Wood Fourths but third place is the highest they can finish.

Naveed Khan (three for 39) helped restrict the Harold Wood batsmen, who could only make 178 for six in 52 overs before opting to declare.

Chris Low (40 not out) and Andrew Mortimer (39) scored well but not quickly enough for the visitors.

In reply, Chingford eased home, with Adil Daniyal (44) and Myles Joyce (39) to the fore, guiding the home side to a winning total of 181 for five.

Fourth XI Division One

A six-wicket defeat of Wickford Fourths was too little too late for Fives and Heronians Fourths, who are already relegated.

Roger Braithwaite claimed three for 42 as the visitors were restricted to an underwhelming 183 for six.

Steven Leaver hit 62 but Wickford’s total looked shy of being competitive.

Fives then took the points with Braithwaite (57 not out) and Chris Rotsey (42 not out) putting on the key partnership to reach 184 for four.

Oakfield Parkonians Thirds clung on for a draw, despite Rohan Aswani’s unbeaten century for Harlow Fourths.

Aswani made 101 not out, hitting boundaries for fun as Harlow built an imposing total of 250 for eight before opting to declare.

Parks struggled to find their rhythm with the bat; Ronan Jaruna (31) and Yogaratnam Karunakaran (24) making the biggest contributions in reaching 152 for eight.

Fourth XI Division Two

Ritesh Ranjan’s five-for helped Epping Thirds to a 160-run thrashing of ten-man Basildon and Pitsea Fourths.

Tony Sanderson opened the batting strongly for Epping, hitting 71 before a middle-order collapse left the home side staring down the barrel of a poor total.

Batting at number eight, Sam Wilson added a vital 75, helping to push the Epping total up to 228 for eight.

Ranjan (five for 29) and Mohammed Zubair (four for 37) then tore into the Basildon line-up; reducing the visitors to just 68 for nine to secure an emphatic victory.

Fourth XI Division Three

Nick Thorpe’s five-for was not enough to steer Oakfield Parkonians Fourths to victory, as Old Southendian and Southchurch Fifths recorded a two-wicket away win.

Parks were not at their best at the crease and whilst Tariq Jameel (38) and Andrew Beaven (30) made respectable scores, they were not supported by those around them as the home side crumbled to 142 all out.

Ricky Stevenson had no little joy with the ball, claiming six for 57 for the visitors.

Despite the best efforts of Thorpe (five for 47), Parks were unable to prevent their visitors securing the points, with Bradley Thompson hitting 70 of Southendian’s 143 for eight.
