Essex Premier Cup

Newbury Forest advanced to the third round of the Essex Premier Cup with a 1-0 win at Essex Senior Reserve side East Thurrock Reserves on Saturday.

Debden Sports also progressed thanks to a narrow 1-0 win at Barnston; Lewis Denis scoring the only goal of the game to send the Olympian League side through.

Wadham Lodge were knocked out by Rayleigh Town 4-2, with Brett Munyard and James Blewitt putting Rayleigh 2-0 ahead inside 25 minutes. Alex Foster got one back for Wadham, before Peter Beaumont extended Rayleigh’s lead once more. Harry Honest again halved the deficit, only for Munyard to kill off the tie.

Ongar Town were dumped out by Brightlingsea Regent Reserves 4-1, with Ross Carpenter netting what proved to be a mere consolation for Town.

Roydon were crushed 6-1 by a rampant Benfleet side. William McKinlay scored a hat-trick, whilst David King (2) and James Briathwaite were also on target. Wes Perry scored Roydon’s consolation.

Snaresbrook were well-beaten by West Bergholt, succumbing to a 5-0 defeat.

Division Two

LOASS were 2-1 winners over Ryan in the division’s only fixture. Bondzie and Milosz Kwolek were the LOASS marksmen, whilst Ryan scored in the 25th minute via Jack Tredgold.

Division Three

Epping are now only a point behind leaders FC Hamlets POAPC after beating Upminster 2-0 to move up to third position. Tony Field and Joshua Gibson scored the all-important goals for Epping.
