FC Leytonstone’s five-match winning run came to an abrupt halt as they were beaten 3-1 by local rivals Eastham Leytonstone.

Two early goals from Eastham shocked Leytonstone into upping their tempo and a goal soon followed from Micah Stennett.

However the killer blow arrived just before half time when the hosts snatched their third.

The Lemons saw their best chance to seal get back in the game go to waste when a penalty from Sergio Garcia was saved by the home side’s goalkeeper.

Reflecting on a disappointing afternoon, manager Munaf Abhram said: "Everyone makes mistakes, we took our foot off the pedal today and were punished, but I have total faith in my players.

"This result is a small setback for us but it’s a good warning and we will bounce back from this, we are really good at that, we have shown this before and we are still in a comfortable position in the league table in terms of being title contenders."

Ashtyn Michael scored a hat-trick as the Under-16s beat Reachout 4-1. Victor Adefarakan scored a memorable fourth to seal the win for the Lemons.

For the Under-14s, it was an all together different story as they slipped to a crushing 10-1 defeat against Unity Youth Blue.

The Under-9s enjoyed a better afternoon though, who were 3-1 winners over Broadwater Farm.
