ESSEX SUNDAY CORINTHIAN LEAGUE

Premier Division

With league leaders Greengate not playing once more, Chingford Celtic moved level on points by beating Woodbridge 6-0.

Celtic have played two more games than Greengate but only sit second due to their inferior goal difference.

Dominic Farmer did his bit to improve that by scoring a hat-trick for Celtic. There were also goals for Modestas Dainauskas, Richard Kelly and Gregory Roberts.

Third-placed EMWA kept the pressure on Celtic by beating West Thurrock 5-3.

The victory means EMWA are just a point behind Chingford having played a game more.

Jermaine Dowe and Kacey Adam both netted doubles for the hosts, who also saw Dean Steven Frett get in on the act. Patrick Hinchin (2) and Tony Piccolo were the West Thurrock goalscorers.

There was a shock further down the league as strugglers Romford Elite beat fourth-placed Coral 5-1 away from home.

Romford picked up just their second win of the season in fine style, beating a Coral side who remain fourth and level on points with EMWA a place above.

Division One

Eric Kelly scored both goals as top-of-the-table Ainslie Wood enjoyed a routine 2-0 win over title rivals Repton Park.

Wood remain unbeaten after eight games and are top of the pile thanks to a seven-point cushion between themselves and Repton Park.

Aldborough Hatch drew 2-2 with St Augustines, missing the chance to move up to second.

Goals from Daniel Chester and Jamie Langhans secured a point, with Luke Diebelius and David Liam Fitzgerald the St Augustines scorers.

In the battle of the bottom two, Alliance United and Spring Farm drew 1-1.

The result does little for either of the sides who have both yet to win this season. Etelberto Reis Martins Monteiro was the United scorer.

Lonsdale enjoyed a 3-2 victory at Archers Athletic to leapfrog their hosts into eighth.

Kalium Fletcher scored twice whilst Alfred Marku got the other Lonsdale goal.

Division Two

Leyton Green underlined their quality by trouncing third-placed Romford Galaxy 6-2.

The league leaders move three points clear of Wanstead United in second and have scored a whopping 43 goals already this term.

Park Tavern were well beaten at E4 Rangers, succumbing to a 5-0 loss against the strugglers, who picked up their second win to move up to seventh.

Matt Hector netted four in Flanders’ 7-0 win over Pro Elite Soccer United.

Adam Hunt, Des Wilson and Matthew Cordery were the other scorers for the rampant home side.

Heathside prolonged the misery of winless Napier by beating them 3-1. Goals from Craig Alan Ellis, Sam Owen and Jamel Amkssa sealed the points for Heathside.

Essex Sunday Cup

Extra-time was required to separate Thamesgate and Elm Park Eagles, with the former emerging victors by the odd goal in seven.
