West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says defender Winston Reid has 'no future' at the club with his contract expiring in less than six months.

The New Zealand international is out of contract at the end of June, and although the Hammers have tried to tie the centre back to a new deal, there has been no progress.

It is understood the 26-year-old is looking for a salary which is out of the West Ham's price range, prompting interest from Arsenal - amongst others - in securing a cut-price January deal.

Speaking ahead of West Ham's FA Cup third round tie at Everton on Tuesday evening, Allardyce admitted the future of the Auckland-born defender was likely to lie away from Upton Park.

He stated: "There is no future for Winston Reid at West Ham at the moment. His contract finishes on June 30. He hasn't said he's going to sign or that he's not going to sign.

"I'm airing on the side that he isn't going to sign by the feel of it and look of it. Knowing how the football world works, talking to managers about the situation it's very unlikely Winston will sign for us given what people are saying to me."

Reid joined the Hammers from Danish outfit Midtjylland in January 2011 and has since gone on to establish himself as a key member of the club's back four, missing just one Premier League fixture this term.
