Crostyx ladies Seconds mounted a two-goal comeback against Basildon only to end up losing 3-2 in Essex Division One.

The game started with Crostyx defending hard and battling strongly against their opponents. However, despite their strong start the weather was getting worse and Styx began to make a few errors and lose control.

Styx continued to work hard, running up and down the pitch trying to force attacking leads but were unsuccessful and gave away a short corner, from which Basildon took the lead.

The second half saw Crostyx start with renewed vigour but, in the driving sleet, Basildon quickly won and converted another short corner to go 2-0 up. Despite that setback, Styx continued to work hard in order to find a route back into the game but passed up several opportunities to reduce the deficit.

After several short corner opportunities, Lucy Leel passed off the base line to Carla Preston who smashed the ball beyond the Basildon goalkeeper.

Crostyx heads were lifted but disaster struck with just eight minutes remaining as Basildon turned over possession and sealed the win.
