LOASS Girls Under-12s were left disappointed at only taking a point from their visit to league-leaders Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after surrendering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2.

The east London side set about their hosts in the shadow of Tottenham’s White Hart Lane ground and raced into an early 2-0 lead.

Jessica Benning got the opener after ten minutes, beating the Spurs goalkeeper with a well-taken left-footed strike.

Debutant Ella Chisholm claimed the assist for LOASS’ second, crossing for Benning to double her tally and the visitors’ lead.

However, against the run of play Spurs halved the deficit from a mis-placed LOASS clearance.

Just before the break the north Londoners drew level when a long clearance from the Spurs keeper was turned in from close range.

Both sides exchanged chances in the second half without snatching a winner.

Head coach Joe Sheehan rued: “We should have taken all three points today but for a couple of lucky moments for Spurs. We have taken points from the league leaders and have shown no fear in playing any team this season.”
